A MEETING OP CHAMPIONS. TO-MORROW NIGHT'S SPORTS. Sprint and distance match races, attempts to lower running and motor-paced records, motor-paced racing, handicap cycling and running will be featured at English Park tomorrow "night. Lynch Cooper and J. D. Fitt, the Australian runners, who hold championship honours, will make their final appearance in Christchurch. B. McLennan, the New Zealand champion sprinter, will again be matched against Cooper in a series of three races, over distances of 75yds, 100 yds, and 120 yds. More than usual interest is being evinced in the meeting of the two champions, as the result decides whether McLennan will be sent to Australia to race for the world's championship. Both McLennan and Cooper are in the best of form, and the third and deciding race promises to be a thriller.

J. D. Fitt, who recorded record figures for 880 yds, is to be offered an opportunity of establishing new figures for 440 yds. The following runners have been selected to race in a 440 yds invitation handicap:—J. D. Fitt ! (acr), C. K. Yeatman (15yds), O. Getson (15yds), R. S. Thomson (18yds), J. R. Atkinson (22yds), T. A. Shalders (25yds), S. W. Payne (30yds). With such a strong field in front of him, Fitt will have to do record time to win. Having won a one mile race each, the management has decided to again match George Getson, of Christchurch, with J. T>. Fitt in another race of one mile. It promises to be a repetition of the famous race between Lloyd Hahn and B. A. Rose which took place at English Park about four The motor-paced race between W. T. Weir and S. A. Jordan should provide one of «e best exhibitions of motor-paced racing held in Christchurch. Jordan is shaping well durine training operations, and dnnng the wee* has attained a speed of nearly forty mile, per hour.
