M.C.C. V. WAIRARAPA. A DRAWN GAME. (PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) MASTERTON, January 30. The match between M.C.C. and Wairarapa resulted in a draw. The visitors, continuing their first innings, declared with six wickets down for 274, and Wairarapa in their Becond effort made 144, being a.ll out four minutes beiore time 80-c----ley, who made 121, including 20 fours, gave practically a chunceless display, scoring all round the wicket. Earle opened out for his 44, including one six. Woolley batted steadily, unbeaten for 40, but did not appear to be troubled with the bowling. He scored one six. The Wairarapa fielding was keen, making run 3 bard to get. Play was interrupted at 1 o'clock with rain and not resumed until three o'clock. A feature of Wairarapa'a t-ccond innings wa« Uttley'a stonewalling. Montgomery and Hornabrook opened well. Tbe match developed into an exciting tirush, Wairarapa requiring fiftoen runs in fifteen minutes to avoid defeat. This they exceeded by eleven runs, and the match was drawn Bowley's breaks off the somewhat soft wicket, on which sawdust wa3 used after rain, were troublesome.
