Edward Leahey, aged 26 years, a labourer, appeared at the Magistrate's Court this morning, charged with robbing an old man, Bartholomew Maloney, of eleven shillings. He was also charged with brutally assaulting Maloney. It appears that the pair had heen drinkine, and when Maloney ! went to lie down in a shed the offence was committed. Making no statement, accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
