ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TBLIGSAM.) PALMEBSTOX X., January 18. At the Police Court Henry Lorraine Scott was charged with attempted suicide, and sentenced to fourteen days hard labour. Senior-Sergeant Whiteliouse said that Scott came from Auckland. -He had had a long course of trouble with his wife, whom he treated most cruelly Enquiries by detectives m Auckland showed that on one occasion he was found trying to choke his wife, a nd on another *he thrashed his wife with a gas pipe. His wife was taken away, and separation proceedings were instituted In March Scott was charged with 'attempted suicide at Whangarei. The Senior-Sergeant said that Scott s act here was planned no doubt further to torment his wife.
