PIONEER LODGE.
At the half-yearly meeting of the Pioneer Lodge, No. 1, U.A.0.D., A.D. Brother Watts presided over a fair attendance of members. An application for assistance was received from the Timaru Lodge on behalf of the widow and family of a deceased brother, and the eum of "fcj 3»***H*%2 bk The Social Committee reported that and dance would be held on Janua" / 20th. The balance-sheet showed the total funds to be £9411 5s 2d, after handing over to the Grand Lodge Benefit Fund the sum of £2617, the 1925 surplus, the balances in the various funds being: Social fi?nd £25 8s 2d, benevolent fund £6O 14s ftd, incidental fund £330 16a 9d, sick and funeral fund £8994 Ss 6d. The membership is 287. The following officers were elected for the coming term: J.P.A., Brother Watt; A.D., Brother Robinson; V.A., Brother Gribbou; secretary, Brother Neak; treasurer, Brother Desmond; M.S., Brother Smith; A.D., Brother Johnson and Brother Watson; V.A., Brother Gyde and Brother Goldin; IG. Brother Frazer; 0.G., Brother Lapsley; D.P., Brother Beckett; trustee, Brother Watson; auditor, Brother Morrison: GL. representatives, Brother Giles, Brother ■Barnes, and Brother Marriott; sub-repre-sentative, Brother Wright; dispensary delee tj ee ' B . rotller Morrison and Brother Rickard; Friendly Societies' Council delegate, Brother Smith. The officers were duly installed by D.P. Brother Marshall, assisted by G.V.P. O. Donoghue.
