Liquor gangsters in Chicago who attempted to levy blackmail on the Tyremen's Union were met by the police and routed after a fieree gunfight, losing three dead. The Coroner's jury congratulated the detectives on thenclean and efficient execution of three gangsters. The week-end was celebrated by a police raid upon a "racketeers' when nine men and one woman were arrested. The delegates were gathered in the office of the Acme Products Company, which bears the sign, "We raise money for churches, lodges, etc." Among the captured 10 were several who are believed to have participated in the St. Valentine's Day massacre. COAST PATROLS IN ACTION. NEW YORK, December 29. Two interesting incidents in connexion with rum-running occurred to-day. A coastguard off Newport fired upon an escaping American rum-runner known as the "Black Duck," and killed three men and wounded one. A large cargo of liquor was captured. A supposedly British rum-runner "Flor del Mar," was discovered by a coast patrol off Mohtauk, . laden "wiih liquor and on fire.
