The New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that their motor liner Rangitiki, which left Wellington at 5 p.m. on December 7th for Southampton and London, arrived at Panama on Wednesday afternoon after tin exceptionally fast passage of IS days, at an average speed of about 15 knots. She left Colon on Thursday afternoon for Southampton. The Rangitiki, like all other motor ships, has had to have her engines run in at a moderate speed, and although her passage to Panama shows that she is capable of maintaining a speed of approximately 15 knots over great distances, there is every prospect of a further increase, as it is stated by the company that her engines have not yet been fully extended. j PORT OF TIMARU. i Departures.
