A "TALKIE" NUISANCE.
The following amusing conversation was overheard in the Regent Theatre, Wellington. A small girl was evidently witnessing the "Talkies" for the first time. The little one listened with grpa^t, interest and . excitement, but seemed to be disturbed by the continual coughing of a man sitting just behind her. '"Mummie," she said al la-st. ' why does the man keep making that noise?" "Because he has a cold I expect, darling,' 1 replied the mother. "Well. Mummie, why doesn't be take some 'Baxter's'?"
