In an interview before he landed in England after bis Canadian tour, the Prime Minister (Mr Ramsay MacDoaald'i said that now he wanted to go to South Africa. Australia, and NewZealand to complete the round. "f feel." lie remarked. ''the need of closer contact v.-ilh the Dominions ia these times oi change and evolution/' Questioned as to what were the immediate prospects of his visiting _ the other Dominions, and whether South Africa, as nearest, would be the firss, the Prime Minister replied that it is impossible to say at present. Mr J. J. Dougall (ChristchurclO is leaving for home this week by the Drama. He has had a very interesting visit to the Mother Country. While in England he was asked to get in touch with a sculptor for the statue of Captain Cook, which Mr M. Harnett is giving to Christehureh. Mr Doueall is taking back with hirn a miniature model of the statue which has been executed by Mr Thomas Clopperton, a well-known sculptor. Mrs Dougall has been touring with her husband, and is returning with him. They had a useful round of travel in the" Midland counties, visiting wool and cotton mills. Mr C. P. Hainsworth. who was in charge of the Dunedin Exhibition, and who is genera! manager of the Newcastle Exhibition, intends to return to New Zealand, where he owns a fruit farm. The affairs of the Newcastle Exhibition will be wound up r.bout the end of January, after which Mr Hainsworth will be free to set sail for the country of his adoption. The New Zealind students at present taking their medical course at Edinburgh University are:—Final year: J. W. Bridgman, who has taken the full course: 4th year: Athol R. Parkes (Auckland): 3rd year: John C. Hislop, David C T. Clay, and James K. Elliott; 2nd year: Barclay F. Macfa rlane and Robert A. Elliott; Ist year: James H. Brownlee and George B. Mac Gibbon. Zealand students who are in attendance at King's College, I/Ondon, are: B. C. Eennie, M.8., Ch.B., and John Mark, M.8.. Ch.B.. who are both working for the P.R.C.S., and F. C. Spurdle. who is working for the Ph.D. in History.
