I NORTHERN. A meeting of the committee of the Vorthern A. and P. Association was held yesterday morning, Mr H. Maedonald presiding. An apology was received for tlie absence of the president, Mr It. Peach. Mr C I. Jennings reported that he had attended a meeting convened for the purpose of establishing boys' and girls' agricultural clubs ami said the matter had been taken up very enthusiastically. Mr A. R, Jordan, District Supervisor it Intermediate Rural Credits, wrote that ha would be pleased to accept the invt tation to adaress a further meeting, end submitted dates available. It was decided to hold the meeting to-morrow\ The secretary of the Accommodation Committee, Royal Agricultural Show. Invcrcargill. wrote stating that the time for booking accommodation ha«l lieen extended to December '2nd. The secretary of the Royal Show, Invereargill, wrote enclosing; badges and tickets for the show on December 10th, lltn. and 12th. The resignations of Messrs Smith Bros, and T. D. Heney were received and accepted. Messrs F. McQuillan, A. R. James, and E. Ensar wore elected members of the Association. Several nominations were also ret-eived. The balance-sheet of the show hell recently was presented showing a credit balance of £B3 14s 2d as against 3s 4d la»t year. The receipts were £649 13s Ud and the payments £565 19s iu. The chairman expressed satisfactir;i at the result. It was the first tiiae for years, he said, that a substantial balance had been shown. Several members ex pressed satisfaction at the success oi the show and special reference was made to the work of the secretary, Mr W C. Prnsser A recommendation was passed to next year's commitU><» that rules be drafted to govern judging. The Bum of £5 was voted to the Ranginra High School as a grant for agricultural purposes. The treasurer's statement for the past two .nonths showed receipts £714 10s Id and pay ments £167 5s Id. The bank cre<l:t balance was £547 13s 7d.
