They were quietvoiced men who had built up their fortunes in commeveial activities including *t«-el, new-papers, railways, lemons, laundries, fi-li. oil. milk, electric signs. eai«»s, nnd department stores. All these people said that they had brought a message of goodwill to the Australian and New Zealand civic authorities and other public bodies.
