PIANOFORTE RECITAL.
At Jellicoe Hall on Saturday night the pupils of Miss E. A. Prebble, A.T.C.L., gave an enjoyable recital to an appreciative audience of parents and friends. Miss Prebble, who was presented by her pupils with a bouquet and box of chocolates, wore a pretty frock of blush pink panne velvet, with deep flounce of pink georgette and buckle of brilliants. Her contribution to the programme—the presentation of a scene from "School for Scandal"—was enthusiastically applauded. At an interval in the programme the Eev. O. Fitzgerald, on behalf of Miss Prebble, presented a wristlet watch and a gold medal, respectively, to Marjorie Berry and Betty Yellowlees, who, amongst Miss Prebble's pupils, gained the highest marks at Trinity College practical examination. Other prizes for diligent practice during the past three months were presented as follows: First prizes—Mavis Sutherland,* Lilian Maine, Florrie Feron, Noeline Jarvis, Cora Eailton, Jean Frizzell; second prizes—Boy Lewis, Enid Purchas, Jack Woods, William Logan, Ernest Pratt, Betty Daniels; third prizes—Ernest Arbuckle, Colin Penfold, Nancy Daniels, Dulcie Tomline, Maisie Wilton. The following was the programme presented by the pupils:—Pianoforte duet, ".Robin's Lullaby," Masters William Logan and Jack Woods; pianoforte solo, "Lullaby," Miss Betty Yellowlees; pianoforte duet, '•Spring Ride," Miss Billy Brown and Dulcie Tomline; recitation, "An Everyday Dolly" Miss Patricia Woods; pianoforte trio "Hungarian Dance" Masters Roy Lewis, Harold Wall, and Colin Penfold; pianoforte solo, Palm Dance," Miss Stella Needham; pianoforte duet, "Immer Weider," Misses fcmd Purchas and Barbara Blair; chorus, bong of the Flowers," the Juniors; pianoforte duet, "Meditation," Misses Mavis Sutherland and Lillian Mainne; pianoforte trio, tsleigh Ride," Masters James Smith.
