WEDDINGS.
SHERWOOD—BOTCE. The marriage was solemnised recently by the Rev. L Sarginson, at Linwood Congregational Church, Ferry road, of Doris, second daughter of Mr and Mrs F. T. Boyce, of '' Woolerina, -'' Opawa, and Herbert, son of Mrs T. Sherwood, of Sockburn. The church was artistically decorated bv friends of the bride with stately arum lilies and stocks. Nuptial music was played by Mr W. Lunn. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory georgette, made with fitting bodice, and quaint bertha collar, finished with two rows of tiny frills, and the full skirt was composed of lace and georgette, and drooped slightly longer at the back. Her beautiful embroidered veil was arranged in mob-cap style, with a bandeau of silver ribbon and clusters of orange blossom at each side, and she carried a shower bouquet of lily of the valley, white roses, and maidenhair fern. The attendant bridesmaids were Miss Lucy Sherwood, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Thelma Boyce, sister of the bride. The former wore a graceful model frock of beige georgette with sleeves frilled from elbow to wrist, and tiered skirt falling longer at the back. She wore a beige picture hat and carried a bouquet of beautiful pink and blue blooms. The latter's pretty frock of delphinium blue crepe de chine was made on similar lines, with picture hat to match. She also carried a bouquet of blue and pink flowers. Little Joy Beeves, niece of the bride, was a dainty flower-girl, and wore a frock of rose pink crepe de chine, with fitting bodice, finished with a posy of rosebuds and ribbon, and skirt composed entirely of picoted frills. On her hair she wore a wreath of rosebuds finished with a large bow of tulle, and she carried a Victorian posy of pastel-shaded flowers. Mr Eric Boyce, brother of the bride, attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr Percy Barton as groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by Muriel Beeves. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Winter Garden, where the bride's mother received the guests, Vearing a smart frock of printed satin with fawn crepe de chine collar and cuffs, a smart Bangkok hat, and a fox fur. She carried a lovely bouquet of flowers to tone with her frock. The bridegroom's mother wore a becoming frock of black Ottoman with vest of accordion-pleated beige georgette, and a smart pandan hat. She wore a fur necklet, and carried a bouquet of scarlet blooms. The bride's travelling frock was bois de rose crepe de chine, worn with a flared charmelaine coat, and a model straw hat to tone.
BELCHEE—MacGBEGOE. At St. Mary's Church, Timaru, recently an evening wedding was celebrated, when Mary MacGregor, eldest daughter of Mr and the late Mrs J. MacGregor, Morrinsville, Waikato, and niece of Mr and Mrs Ernest Davis, "Burnbrae," Waihao Downs, was married to William Thomas Belcher, eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr T. W. T3elcher, late of North Canterbury and Carew. The Eev. Mr Lawrence officiated, and Mr Vine was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, who gave her away, wore a charming.frock of white georgette, with j tight-fitting bodice inset with radium lace, long sleeves, and semi-flared and, frilled skirt, which felt Jn points. Her veil, arranged in mob-Cap style and trimmed with orange blossoms, formed, a train. Her bouquet consisted of white Clematis, lily of the valley, and. asparagus fern. Miss Doris. Lensey, 1 who attended as bridesmaid, wore a sleeveless frock of ! reseda taffeta and' carried a j shower bouquet of cream freesias and asparagus fern. Mr Charles Belcher, youngest brother of the bridegroom, was beat man. After the ceremony the guests were received at the Oxford by the bride's aunt (Mrs H. V. Wya J t) and Mr E. Davis. Mrs Wyatt wore a pretty beige frock with coat and hat to tone. The bridegroom's mother wore a black satin frock with coat and hat to match. The bride's travelling dress was of reseda celanese, with hat to tone and olive green coat with collar of gold fur tipped with nigger brown. ROBBINS—JORDAN* On Wednesday evening, at St. Mary's, Addington, Frances Martha, (Queenie), fourth daughter of Mrs R. L. Jordan, was married to Jack Lester, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Bobbins, of Poulson street, Addington. Canon W. S. Bean officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr Percy Edward Buist, of Richmond, wore a white georgette frock, having over-bodice and vandyked skirt, inset with wide bands of delicate lace. Her filmy tulle veil, forming a graceful train, fell from a coronet of orarige blossom, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of white roses and arum lilies. The bride's niece, little Joan Harris, made a dainty flower-girl, wearing a net frock with rainbow ribbon frills, and cap to match. Miss Dorrie Braid and Miss Margery Vickery were the bridesmaids in attendance. Their attractive frocks of lime and of mignonette green respectively were made with pointed yokes of lace to tone and flared skirts, and their pretty Juliet caps were of silver embroidered net and Oriental flowers. Mr Hector Gibbs acted as best man, and Mr Clifford Robbins as groomsman. After the ceremony, Mrs Jordan, mother of the bride, received about one hundred guests at the Cadena tearooms. She wore a becoming frock of navy silk mylecta, with circular skirt and deep cream vest. Her smart Parisian hat was of pearl-visca straw, with a posy of Oriental flowers, and she carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs Robbins, the bridegroom's mother, assisted at the reception, wearing a smart frock of navy silk with flounced skirt of radium lace of the same colour. Her bouquet was of shaded pink roses. After the wedding breakfast a dance was held. The bride's travelling dress was of black crepe de- chine, with lime collar and. cuffs. A chic little hat of lime completed the ensemble, and she carried a marmot fur coat. DANCE AT REDCLIFFS. A very successful danee, organised by Mesdames Beveridge and McConville, v.-as held in the Eedeliffs Community Hall on Saturday evening. A snowball dance was won by Mr and Mrs Lloyd Hi.?kman and a lucky spot dance by Miss Wilson and Mr MeNatty. Music was i.laved by Mrs Middleton's Orchestra. -\niong those present were: Mesdames r!
