PROTEST BY CIVIL SERVANTS. 'FRE96 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) HAWERA, November 12. A meeting of the Hawera Branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers' Association last evening passed the following resolution: "This meeting of Post and Telegraph officers emphatically protests against the action of the members of Parliament in voting themselves £.IOO while refusing-a grant to the rank and file officers of the service, numbers of «-hom, up to 23 years of age, are receiving less than £122 a year, and message boys 18 years of age are receiving £57 a year, and feels that this action is calculated to aggravate the already very real discontent in the service." _____
