CHILD ENDOWMENT.
NEW SCHEME IN AUSTRALIA. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTBIO TELEGBAPH —COPYBIGHT.) (Received November 7th, 1.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 6. The New South Wales Government is considering a proposal to abolish child endowment and to substitute a scheme financed by employers and employees, at the rate of 6d a week. It is believed that this stheme could also be applied to widows' pensions. The question of fixing the basic wage for man and wife with an average family could then be proceeded with independent of child endowment or widows' pensions.
