BIBLES IN HOTELS.

PROGRESS OF N.Z. MOVEMENT. [THE PEESS Special Service.] DUNEDIN, November 5. In pursuance of his work of placing Bibles in the bedrooms of the leading hotels in New Zealand for the use of the travelling public, the Ilev. C'alder, Dominion secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society, is at present visiting Dunedin. He has_ already completed his tasks in the area extending from Auckland to Timaru, and since his arrival in Dunedin last week he has received sufficient support 1.0 warrant the placing ol Bibles in the leading hotels throughout this city and province of Otngc. lomorrow he will proceed south to cnn " tinue his work in Inveriargill and other Southland centres. Mr Calder estimates that up to the present he has distributed 3000 Bibles and by Easter, or perhaps a little later, 'he considers that 0000 will have been placed. The volumes are handsomely hound in black leather, and the print is a clear lonic type. Bibles are to be found in the bedrooms of many of the leading hotels in other paits of the world, and the movement in New Zealand originated vrith the Dominion branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society, which agreed to undertake the task and to_ subsidise the money raised by Christian people for the furtherance of the work.
