Last we;>k C harles Robertson, a commercial traveller, was acquitted on a charge ot negligently driving a motorcar so a= to c.mse the death of James Robert Svnionds. a bridge keeper, employed by the Public Works Department on the Manavvatu Gorge bridge. This morning in-the Supreme Court, before Mr Justice Blair, a civil action was heard in which deceased's widow. Elsie Evelyn .May Symonds. claimed from Robertson and the Diabolo Sepnrator Company, trading as the New /.eaiard Farm Separator Companv £2OOO. His Honour awarded £IBOO. assessing the widow's interest at one-third, the remainder to be held in trust for the children except the eldest, who is over sixteen.
