AUCKLAND TRANSPORT DISPUTE.
UNION SECRETARIES DISCUSS POSITION. [THE PBBBS Special Service.] AUCKLAND. October 22. A meeting of trade union secretaries was held to-day to discuss the dispute between the Auckland Tramwaymen's and Omnibus Employees' Union and the Auckland Transport Board. Reports on the nature of the trouble were received
from representatives of the tnion and the attitude to be adopted toward the efforts of the Transport Board t*> be included in the Local Bodies Labourers' Ward was discussed. It /wa» decided at the close of the meetinz that the result of the discussion should not be divulged. . The aecretarv of the Lnwn (Mr J. Liddell) stated that there was little likelihood of anything further traniDiring until the week-end, when Mr J. Roberts, secretary of the Alliance of Labour, would be in Auckland. Mam meetings of the Union members were held last week-end. when the whole matter was referred to the Alliance, r.nd its secretary was invited to visit Auckland as early as possible. A special meeting of the District Cornell of the Alliance would be held to consider the position.
