SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5. Special train will leave Christehurch 8.45 a.m., Addington 8.51, Sockburn 8.59, Hornby 9.4, Templeton 9.12, Rollcston 9.23, Dunsandel 9.47, Rakaia 10.13, and arrive Methven 11.10 a.m. It will stop only at stations named and at Hatfield, Somerton, Mitcham, and Sherwood to pick up passengers for Methven. On return it will leave Methven 5.45 p.m., stop only where required to set down passengers from Methven, and arrive Christehurch 7.57 p.m. Special train taking passengers and horses for Methven will leave Christchurch 6.15 a.m. and arrive Methven 9.55 a.m. It will stop only at Addington (6.30), Hornby (6.55), Rolleston (7.25), Dunsandel (8.0), Rakaia (8.44), Lauriston (9.18), and Urrall, Lyndhurst, and Cairnbrae to pick up passengers for Methven and where required to lift horses for Methven. On return it will leave Methven 7.10 p.m., stop only where required to set down passengers and put off horses from Methven, and arrive Christehurch 9.50 p.m. The usual 6.40 p.m. Rakaia-Methven train will leave Rakaia 6.42 p.m., Lauriston 7.22, and arrive Methven 7.59 p.m. Horses must be loaded at respective stations 30 minutes before horse train is due to leave. Should the races be postponed the special trains will not run.
