0 ENQUIRY INTO ALLEGED OVER-STAFFING. The Special Committee of the City Council set up to enquire into the alleged over-staffing of the City Engineer's Department, consisting of the Mayor >(Mr J. K. Archer), Crs. Plesher, Thacker, Cooke, and E. Parlane (Cr. Sullivan being absent), met yesterday morning. The proceedings were in committee. Afterwards the Mayor informed a reporter that at present the Special Committee is collecting data and matters still were in the initial stages. The committee had adjourned till Tuesday morning, October Bth.
