AIR ATTACKS ON LONDON.
BX-KAISER'S ACTION. LONDON, September 23. Major-General Ashmore, who was in eharge of London's air defence from 3017, gives an elaborate description of London's air defence weakness in his book, "Air Defence," published today. The General, in conclusion, does not Believe any defence force could prevent rallera reaching London, but says that suitable arrangements could be made •gainxt the attacker, resulting in such tasualtieg that the attempts would die •ut. The book reveal# that the ox-Kaiser refusal to sanction air raids on Loudon, and only consented when the Allies raided Karlsruhe. He insisted on St. Paul's, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace not being touched. He wanted the attacks confined to the weekends, when it was thought that the City would be empty. On another occasion when the King was injured in JVanor by his horse falling, and was takf u to a chateau near Aire, Iho ex Kaiser insisted on elaborate precautions to prevent sir attack.
