The total time taken back to Christchurch was 1 hour 20 minutes, a good trip being experienced in spite of a steadv southerly head wind after passing Waikari. Captain Mercer «tated upon returning that unless the wind w;ts in the right quarter landing was difficult at Waiau. and this would be> considered before the final decision was made to visit Waiau to-morrow.
