♦ RECLASSIFICATION ASKED FOl A fnll meeting of the North Cante bury P. and T. Employees' Associatio fonrartled the following resolution 1 all Canterbury members of Parliame* on Thursday night: "General meeth of North Canterbury Section P. and' Employees Association, held to-nigl passed resolution calling on Cante bury members of Parliament to insi during debate on P. and T. Estimate on reclassification of the service tli year, and calls on yoa to support ar proposals for the betterment of tl salary position of members at tl service."
A special meeting e of t Rangiora Memorial Committ was held last evening to i consider the tenders for the erection the gates. Messrs Kerr and Thompgc whose tender had been accepted, m stating that a mistake had been 'ma of abont £26 in their estimate, the fore they eonld not earry out the wo at their original price. They we however, prepared to meet the comra tee by reducing the correct estimate £lO, bringing the cost of erection £l3l. It was decided to release Mea Keir and Thompson of their contra and aeeept the tender of Mr J. Twaet at £l2O.
