FLOWER SHOW.
RAKAIA. The ssnual ipriDg of liie Kakaia Horticultural Society was held in the Town Hall yesterday. There was a large attendance -n the afternoon and. evening. Although the namber of entries was not quite so large a* usual, the qualify o£ the exhibits in jnoet of tbe classes was exceptionally good. There wat a splendid display of Barcissi, and competition v.us koea iu these classes, the >ud*'es remarking on tbc freshness and. good 'tolo-jr of the llouers, which compared favonruhly with any seen this season at other There vas also a good exhibit of n-iuirooos pansier, but'in the polyanthus and auewone classes the flowers not io ~ood as in former years. The school ~er-tioo attracted much attention, the drawings, writing, and handwork being excellent. V urir.g the afternoon and evening a large committee of ladic-s provided refreshments in the supper room, and a thriving business was done. The judges were:—Flowers, vege'?Ue= and decorative, 3lr F.
