ROYAL CHRISTCHURCH MUSICAL SOCIETY.

The second subscription concert of the season takes place to-night at the Municipal Concert Hall, when Sullivan's "Golden Legend" will form the programme. The soloists selected are Madames Alyce Harley, soprano; Miss Dulcie Mitchell, contralto; Mr J. Wyatt Hadland, tenor; and Mr Chas. Clarkson, bass. The work will be performed by a full chorus and orchestra, and rehearsals give promise of an excellent rendering of a beautiful work which has not been heard in Christchurch for eight years. The words are taken from Longfellow's poem arranged by Jos. Bennett, the original lezend having been written in the 13th century. Ticket-holders are particularly requested to be seated by 7.45 p.m., as the concert will commence at 8 p.m. punctually.
