"AT OATTLK. There was a total entry to day of '-'yo, which waa the smallest which has been yarded this year. Mataon and Co.'a quota waa 70 head. Tha quality throughout was • not so sood aa that yarded the previous week. Keen competition wa* forthcoming for all Jtaht beef, and prioaa compared favourably with Wednesday last- Heavy cattle, however, were not quite ao much in demand, and w* conalder that value* for these were easier trow iaa to 36s per head, making an approximate drop of !is per 1001b. The North Island waa represented in all by about 50 bead. There were one or two nice trucks (roam the We»t Coast, and also aomo heavy tows from Southland.
