STRUCK BY TRAIN. (FJifiSS ASSOCIATION rEi-EGRAV.) NAPIER, September 2d. Mr F. T. Redman, a member of the literary staff of the "Hawke's Bay Herald." was fatally injured when knocked down by a train at the Hastings street crossing, Napier, about 6 o'clock to-night. He had lost the sight of one eye and apparently did not notice the train approaching' diagonally across his. path from the rear. Ho died before the arrivaj of the ambulance at the hospital. Mr Redman, who was a Justice or the Peace, came to Napier about four years ago, following a newspaper enterprise in Taranaki, and a Jong residence in the Vairarapsv.- Ke was 77 years of age and leaves ft widow and adult family of three.
