OBITUARY.

—** — MR ROBERT MACARTNEY. Mr Robert Macartney, who died at the Rannerdale Home yesterday, aged 33 years, was the youngest son of Mrs Macartney and the late Mr Robert Macartney, of "Waitaha," Tai Tapu. The late Mr Macartney was born at Tai Tapu, and after leaving school took up farming. He went to the war with the mounted men of the Twentysecond Reinforcements, and returned in August, 1919. For a time he worked on his farm at Highbank, but he was seriously ill in Egypt, and his health gradually grew worse, and he had been an invalid for the last four years. He was of a bright and cheerful disposition, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. Tb.9 deepest sympathy is felt for his widow, his mother, and family. The flag at the Tai Tapu school was flown at half-mast as a tribute to his memory. The funeral will take place at the Lincoln Presbyterian Cemetery to-morrow.
