Mrs Ivan Bennington left yesterday •a holiday to Christchurch. Mr B. Chalmers (Boss) left yester«*y to resume studies at the Christehurcli Training College. Mr William Scott, formerly Harbourmaster at Hokitika, is visiting the West Coast. 'Mr B. Lyons, a resident of Stafford for 01 years, left yesterday to reside in Wellington. Rugby Football. A sevona-sido tournament was held yesterday at Kumara for the Haraty Cup. The finalists were Cobden and Btars (Greymouth), the former winning by 8 to nil. Keefton Cricket dob. The annual meeting of the Beefton Crfcket Club was held on Friday evening. The election of officers resulted aa follows:—Patron, Mr W. P. Monteith; president, Mr T. .Williams; secretary, Mr W. Blom; club-captain, Mr T.t Hepburn; vice-captain, Mr W. Blom; treasurer, Mr D. MoKane; selection eommittec, the treasurer, club captain, vice-captain, and president. League Football. Beautiful weather prevailed this •fternoon for the football fixture between Grey Marists and Christchurch Marists, and there was a large attendance at the Cobden Domain. The home team defeated the visitors by 12 to 11. The Orey scorers were Griffen, Beban, Marriott, and Coulson (one try each). The Christchurch scorers were O'Loughlin, Carey, and Flood (one try ">#aeh;, Brittenden (a penalty goal). South Westland. A sevcu-a-side football tourney was held at Wataroa on Saturday.
