The of the Richmond Hill ohampianship was played over thirty-six holes dozing the week-end. J. S. Bruges defeated R. ii. T. Hamilton one up at the thirty-eevetth hole. The course was in good order, but • strong north easterly wind was blowing. Hamilton was playing steadily, and in the morning was six up at the luncheon adjournment. Over the final eighteen holes, thv play, was very interesting, and Bruges reduced his deficiency to three down at the" turn. At the thirty-third hole Hamilton was dormy' three. Bruges won the next three holes, .including an eagle two at the thirty-fifth. The match was squared at the thirty-sixth. Play went to the thirty-seventh. Both got good drives away. Hamilton played his second first and was just short of the green. Bruges hit a splendid second and finished about fifteen, feet beyond the pin, and holing out in a bogey four, won the hole and the match. The junior game, between D. O. H. Richardson and R. D. M. Bassett, was very closely contested, Richardson winning one up at the thirty-sixth. In the afternoon both did tl's over the first nine" holes —fine scoring in a junior game. Hie match was squared at the thirty-fifth, and at the last hole Richardson got a par 8, taking the hole and the match. ' Richardson shows great promise and should have a good golfing future.
