STRUCK BY TRAIN.
WOMAN'S TRAGIC DEATH. (rsaM twociATio* rmLio*A*.) INVERCABGILL, September 22. An inquest was held yesterday into the death of Bridget Ford, a married woman, aged 72, who was struck bj a train at the Ythan street crossing on September 9th. The driver of the train said that when about an engine length from the grassing b* noticed a woman walking
brisk!" as »f she were trying to get over in of l^ e train. The whistle was souiuled twice, but the woman took no notice. She had been struck by the left hand portion of the engine and thrown clear. The Coroner returned a verdict that deceased met her death, as a result of , lp - nl , struck by a tram, no blame being attachable to anyone.
