ANTARCTIC COLD.

LOW TEMPERATURES RECORDED [By Russau. Owwr—Copyrighted 1899 by New York Time* Company »nd 6t Louis "Post-Dispatch."] (ronrxi» PBuss association—vt suscrmio TELSGBAPH - COPYRIGHT.) (Received September 18th, 0.5 pan.) BAY OP WHALES, Sept. 17. We have been passing through one of the coldest periods ever recorded here. The average for the first 15 days this month has been 51 degrees below zero, which is much lower than was recorded by Captain Amundsen. A geological party will go south to Queen Maud Mountains in October, when it is believed that the temperature will become decidedly warmer, but it is unlikely that any flying will be done before December. —Australian Press Association. tAU Rights for Publication *eserr«d throughout the World—"Wireless to "New Tor* Times."}
