NORTH CANTERBURY LADIES* CHAMPIONSHIPS. WON BY MISS DOROTHY CHRYSTALL. It would have been impossible to have had worse conditions than prevailed when play was resumed at Harewood yesterday morning. There was a heavy nor'-wester with occasional heavy showers. Harewood is exposed to such conditions, and received the full blast of the gale. The second rounds of the senior and junior championships and two concurrent stroke handicaps were played, and considering the weather some good scores were returned. Miss E Parson's 87 was the best. The winners of the respective championships were anticipated. Miss Chrystall winning the championship by four strokes from Miss E. Parsons, while Mrs McKillop had a runaway victory in the junior championship. She won by 15 strokes from Mrs N. E. Ting-ey Only on Tuesday Mrs McKillop obtained a senior handicap, and in addition to winning the bogey handicap on Tuesday she annexed the senior medal handicap yesterday. Her score of 94 yesterday under the conditions was very creditable for » 20 handicap player. The junior medal handicap was won by Mrs C. A. Quane. The large reception room at the Canterbury Women's Club, gay with daffodils and wattle, was filled with members and friends last night, when a most enjoyable bridge party, organised by Mrs D. Lee and Mrs D. Donn, was held.
