SUPREME COURT. (Before hi* Honour Mr Justice Kennedy.) FRIDAY. = Flora Louisa Taylor, widow of the late 3. F. Taylor, farmer, applied, under the Family Protection Act, for an incieaae of allowance from the estate Mr W. K. Lascellea appeared for the trustees and Mr E. W. White for the applicant. After hearing legal argument, his Honotii intimated that he would give his decision on Monday. MAGISTERIAL. FRIDAY. (Before Mr B. C. Levvey, S.M.) CYCLING WITHOUT LIGHTS. For cycling without lights the ■ following fines were imposed:—Hector Herrick, costs only; James Lee, 10s and costs, and costs only on charges of riding on the footpath and giving a false same and address; Robert. Peters. 10s and, costs;. John W. H. Tatam, costs only; George Templeton, costs only; Horace Thompson, costs only, and a similar penalty fpr eyeliner on the footpath. James Herbert Vivian, 10s and costs; William Wellington, 10s and costs; George Bettridge, 10s and cOßts. George Curline, for riding a motor-cycle without lights, was fined 10s and costs.. INSUFFICIENT LIGHTING. For having insufficient lighting on motorcars fines were inflicted as follows:—Graham Steuart Bennet, 10s and costs; Claude Taylor, 10s and costs; Mabel Robinson, 10s and costs. RIE'ING ON FOOTPATH. For cycling on the footpath, Alfred Parmer Taylor and Herbert Heywood were each fined 10s and costs. Rentie William Vartha, who made a voluntary appearance, was fined 10s. CUTTING IN ON CORNERS. Samuel Bray and Edwin March Saunders were each fined 20s and cost 3 for cutting in on corners. MOTORISTS CHARGED. Caaregs of negligent driving and failing to give way to traffic were preferred against Thomaß Anderson (Mr M. W. Simes). The case was dismissed. Stanley Mooar. for negligent driving, was fined 20s and costs. A similar information against John Stewart Ellis (Mr Cuthbertl was dismissed. Richard Thomson (Mr H. P. Smith) was charged with negligent driving, and with failing to give wav to traffic on his right. On the first count" he was fined £1 and costs, and was similarly fined on the second. For failing, to give «:>r '2 ™°» ra ""*•; right, John McCallum was fined 20s and . costs. On a charge of driving jo b manner dan gerous to the public. Victor Maurice Hooper was fined £3 and costs. In imposing the fine the Mairistrate said that if U had not , been that Hooper's car was essential for. his worlc—defendant stated he was a tra- i veller—he would have taken away his license.
