CLEARING SALE. Messrs H. Matson and Co. held a dispersal eale of a dairy herd on account of J3r James Mould, Duvauchelie. The cattle were practically Shorthorns and were in excellent order. Many prominent Banks Peninsula dairymen were present end also several of the leading Plains farmers Competition vras keen throughout, and a highly satisfactory i.versge foi the 40 dairy cows of £l3 2s 6d was reached. DISPERSAL SALE. 11. Matson and Co. report having conducted, on behalf of Mr R. J. Bailey, at Duvauchelie Bay Saleyards, a complete dispersal of his dairy herd, comprising 74 cattle, 14 of which were heifers. Competition was keen throughout, and the sale was expeditiously handled. The whole herd changed hands in one hour twenty minutes, at the very splendid average of £ll 17s Gd per head H. Matson and Co. report that, in conjunction with Messrs Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Company, on Thursday, they conducted a very satisfactory clearing sale on account of Mr W. B. Winter, Kaiapoi. There was a good attendance of the local farming community, and a most satisfactory clearance was made. The principal sales were: Thirty-six posts 2s 6d each, S.f. plough £9 10a, tiipod hauows £4, Cambridge roller £ls 10s, chain harrows £3, dray £9, dog cart £2 ss, dray and frame £5 16s, sow in pig £4 2s Bd, two sows in pig £3 each, 10 store pigs 20s each, 7 store pigs 335, pit of mangolds £ll (25 tons), stack of oat sheaves £7 ss, Alfa Laval separator £5 10s, separator engine £9, and 20 cows at £l3 10s. CLEARING SALES. H. Matson and Co. report having conducted last Thursday a successful clearing sale on account of the late A. W. Onus at Robinson's Bay. In spite of the unfavourable weather, there was • large and representative gathering of local farmers, and altogether a very satisfactory realisation was effected. It was a thoroughly good sale throughout. A large attendance of the buying public from all local districts was present, which led to a very spirited sale. There were eight dairy cows, which averaged £l3 15s, of which the top price was £lB, and one empty heifer sold for £B.
