FIRES.

TWO OUTBREAKS IN SUBURBS. Two fires, the origin" of whleh «e unknown, broke out in the suburbs yesterday morning. At 8.49 the Brigade was called to a four-roomed cottage at 223 Ensor's road, where a fire had broken out in a bedroom. The house was oacnpied by Mr C. Williams, and owned by Mr F. W. Young, a butcher, of Ferry road. The mattress of the bed was destroyed. The house was insured for £650 in the Victoria Office, while the furniture was uninsured. Considerable damage was done to a sitting-room and contents of a fiveroomed house at 43 Bosebery street, Spreydon, occupied by Mr J. Roots. The brigade received • eall at lo.ou o'clock, and made a smart save. There was no one at home when the fire broke out. The house was insured for £6OO in the State Department. The furniture was uninsured.
