POPE SHIELD. (PBBES ASSOCIATIOS TELEGRAM.) WESTPOB.T, September 12. The annual match for the Pope Shield took place this afternoon between Boiler (holders) and West Coast (challengers), and was won by Coast by 3 goals to nil. Coast combined much better than Bailer and were also more expert in their stick work, and earned a well-merited victory. The scorers were Mrs Batson and Miss McGrath (2). After the match Mr B. Harty, president of the Bailer Hockey Association, presented the Shield to Miss O. Stapleton, captain of the Coast team. A miniature shield given by Mr Budgewood to the best player in the Boiler team was won by Miss Elsie Stevens.
