SEASON EXTENDED.
"SPEAKEASY.*' LIBERTY THEATRE. Ac advinoe bookings at the bos office indicated, the "Speakeasy" season at Liberty Theatre was, for the first week, an unqualified success, and the management of Liberty Theatre have decided to extend the season a second week. The picture boasts no remarkable story, but through a judicious and ingenious welding of histrionic talent, an interesting story of plain men and women is told. It is a drama of night-clubs, speakeasies, cheap theatres on Broadway, and the prize lights and crooked dealings of the boxing world. The dialogue is excellent. Lola Lane and Paul Page, both recruited from the legitimate stage, and both, therefore, well versed in the art of using the voice, have the leads They act well, speak well, and they encourage all other members of the cast to do the same, with a result that "Speakeasy" is the most interesting talkie that has yet been shown hero. The same programme of supporting talking features will be presented atrain next week. Those two well-known comedians, Clark and MoCullough appear to amuse patrons, also Miller and Farrell, with their guitars and mandolins, and Harold Murphy, the famous baritone. Box plans are at The Bristol Piano Company, where seats may be reserved.
