The Bishop is accompanied by Mrs and Miss West-Watson. Obituary. The death oecurred yesterday of Mrs Julia Mullnis, of Kamaku, an old resident of the West Coast. Mrs MulJins v3!l 77 years of iige, a native of County Ualwav (Ireland;, and had lived at Kamaka for ">7 years. Her husband predeceased her 30 years ago. She leave* a family of four daughters. One •on, Michael, "was killed in the Great War. Tr The death took place at Reefton Hospital on Thursday night of Mr Edward Swift, who had been an inmate of the institution for some years, suffering from chronic rheumatism. He was a native of Wigan, Lancashire, 69 years •f age, and had been resident in the district for 2t years. Advice has been received of the death at Wanganui on Friday of Mr D. Adamson, son of Mr George Adamson, of Hokitika. Mr Adamson was a nativo of Ross, 24 years of age. Death followed a lorry accident. Private advice was received yesterday of the death at Belmont on Friday et Mr A. H. Stuart, who was Chief Postmaster at Hokitika from September, 1!>18, till 1921. Mr Stuart leaves • widow and a daughter. Kugby Football. Owing to rain all Rugby fixtures set down for yesterday were postponed till next Saturday, both in Greymouth and Hokitika. Fire at Faroa. A cottage at Paroa, owned by Mr Rav Hartshorne, was destroyed by fire ou Thursday evening. The owner, who was away at the time, lost everything except his working clothes. It is understood that there was no insurance. Missing Miner. No trace has yet been discovered of Peter Kennedy, who has been missing from his homo at Dobson since Saturday week, and it is feared that he fell into the Grey River, near which he was last seen. Teromakau Bridge. Although one is constantly hearing of the number of unemployed on tho West Coast it seems strange that when work ii offered there are no applicants. For the past fortnight tenders have been tailed for repairs to the Teremakau bridge, labour only, and yet not one leader was received. Keefton Band. The twenty-eighth annual meeting of ttte Inangahua Silver Band was held on Friday evening, Mr J. B. Auld presiding, Tho balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £77 17s sd. Scott; drum major, Mr T. Baird. Hokitika Borongh Council. The ordinary meeting of the Hokitika Borough Council was held on Friday evening. Present: The Mayor (Mr <!. A. Perry), Crs. Teichelmann, Ju. King, J. L. Turner, A. C. Armstrong, A. R. Elcock, T. W. Duff, and E, W, Heenan. The District Engineer, Public Works Department, Greymouth, wrote intimating, in regard to tho Council's application for a subsidy for the relief of unemployment, that as there were no local registrations from unemployed, and as work ia available outside the borough, the Minister for Public Works con•idem that there is no occasion to profide a subsidy for unemployment relief Works in the Hokitika borough.
