SHIPPING NOTES.

The Tees is now to sail to-day for Wellington, Westport, and Greymouth. The Kaimanawa was an arrival yesterday from Portland, via Wellington. She is to sail this afternoon for Dunedin. The Waihemo is due to-day from Napier, and will discharge cargo from Los Angeles. She will also load here for Vancouver and San Francisco, and is to sail via Dunedin and Bluff. The Mako was an arrival on Saturday from Wellington. She loads here to-day for East Coast ports of the North Island. The Calm is now expected to-morrow from i Timaru to take in cargo for Wellington, Pic- ; ton, and Wanganui. j The John is now due to-morrow from Dar- ' gaville, with timber. She loads here for Wellington. New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Hohnditlo is timed to load here tomorrow for Wellington and Wanganui. The Himatangi should arrive to-morrow from the north to take in cargo for Wellington and Foxton. The Storm arrived on Saturday morning from Wanganui, and sailed in the afternoon for Dunedin and Timaru. She is due back on Thursday to load for Wellington and Wanganui. The Gale is expected from the north on Wednesday, and is to sail the same day for Dunedin and Timaru. She is due back on Sunday and loads on Monday for Wellington and Wanganui. The Wingatui should arrive to-morrow from Timaru to continue loading for Auckland. Sho sails via Wellington. The Corinna is timed to load at Lyttelton about Friday for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Cygnet is due to-morrow night from Kaikoura and Wellington, and is to sail on Wednesday night on the return trip. The Kahika is to load here on July 23rd for Napier and Gisborne. The 8.1. Company's steamer Narbada, which is under charter to the Union Company, is to leave Calcutta on August Ist for Penang, Singapore, and Samarang. She brings cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timatu, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Port Gisborne was an arrival at Auckland on Thursday from New York. She is due at Wellington on Thursday and at Lyttelton about Sunday. The Surrey is now due on Friday from Timaru to continue loading for London under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The Poolta should arrive on Friday next from Westport with coal. She discharges a part cargo here and proceeds to Timaru. The Breeze sailed on Saturday for Westport, and is due back about Thursday with coal for the Canterbury Company's hnlk Ranpo. She is to sail on Friday for Dunedin and Timaru. The Katoa is due to-morrow from Auckland and Wellington, and is to sail ia the evening for Dunedin and Timaru. The Waipiata is expected to arrive on Sunday next from Auckland, via Wellington, with transhipments of fruit. She is to sail the following day for Dunedin and Bluff. Captain C. Sharpe has been appointed act-ing-master of the Kamona. Captain A. B. Siaer has been appointed to the command of the Kairanga. Captain A. W. Cresse, of the Poolta, has been granted holidays, and Captain O. D. Fraser is now in command of the vessel. Mr A. W. Pert is now second officer of the Tofua, replacing Mr J. M. Hood, who has resigned from the service. Mr A. P. Cousin has joined the Maheno as aocond officer.

The Hororata was expected to leave Auckland at daybreak yesterday for Lyttelton, and la due here to-morrow morning. The Tamaroa, which" left Wellington on June Bth, arrived at Southampton on Thuraday morning after a passage of 33 days. News has been received by the Federal Company that the Devon arrived at Las Palmas on Tuesday morn ins from Wellington, and sailed again on Tuesday evening for London and West Coast porta o! Great Britain. The vessel left Wellington on May Slat. The Shaw, Bavill, and Albion Company advise that the Mshia arrived at Oisborne at 7 a.m. on Thursday from Napier for further loading. She will now leave Oisborne to* day for Auckland, and is to sail finally from the latter port next Friday for New York, Boston, Halifax, and London. The Federal Company advise that the Northumberland is fixed to commence loading at New Plymouth on August 19th, for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. She will also load at Port Chalmers, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The vessel Is due at Wellington on September 2nd, and will leave Wellington en September 4th for Napier and Auckland to fill up. The Northumberland will sail finally from Auckland on September 12th for London and West Coast of Great Britain,
