MAN ADMITS GUILT. (PBES3 ASSOCIATION TELIGEAM.) DUNEDIN, July 12. For the first time since his recapture at Brunnerton, the story of William Rainsdon Avery's escape from the Dunedin Gaol on June 6th was told to-day in the Magistrate's Court. He walked out of the prison gate early in the morning when it was open for tradesmen, crossed the railway line to where the steamer Karetu was lying and, according to his tale, was secreted on board by some of the crew. He left the vessel at Lytt.elton, stole a bicycle, and cycled to Grevmouth. From there he went to Brunnerton, where he obtained work in the mines. He was this morning charged with stealing a motor-cai at Cave on May 18th, with theft at Momona on Maj 21st, burglary and theft of a safe at Dunedin. and escaping from prison. He pleaded guilty, and waa committed for aentenoe on sol charge*.
