BENEFIT CONCERT.
TO-MORROW, CIVIC THEATRE.
A Sunday concern organised by Mrs W. J. Hunter and Mr Reg. Stillwell will be held tomorrow evening at the Civic Theatre, in aid of the West Coast Belief Fund. The following artists will take part:—Rio Rita Company (by kind permission of John Fuller and Co.. Ltd.), Bloy's Silver Banjo Band of 26 instrumentalists, Messrs Harold Prescott (tenor), Jock Loekhart (Scottish entertainer), Bert Holt (elocutionist), Eddie Dowell (popular songs), George Kent and son (mouth organ and accordion duets), and Ernie Jackson 'a Orchestra. From 7.30 p.m. to the commencement of the concert, gramophone selections will be supplied by Charles Begg and Co. Mr B. Spicer will be stage manager, and special coloured lighting effects will be featured. An invitation has been extended to all refugees at present in the City to attend. The concert is under the patronage of the Mayor (Rev. J. K. Archer), the Deputy-Mayor (Dr. H. T. J. Thacker), the Town Clerk (Mr J. S. Neville), the City Councillors, and Citizens' Relief Committee. Patrons are requested to give liberally and pay their donations at the ticket boxes, where tickets will be issued for admission. Mr Reg. Stillwell has arranged that at the concert Mr Charles Murry, of Seddonville, will give a racy account of his experiences during the recent earthquake and disastrous floods which overwhelmed the Seddonville and Mokihinui Valley.
