HEIGHT OF HEDGES.

DANGEROUS INTERSECTIONS. An amendment to the by-law covering the height of hedges at street intersections was favoured by the By-laws Committee in its report to the City Council last evening. It stated: The attention of the committee has been drawn to several corners in the City which are dangerous from a traffic point of view owing to high hedges. The present by-law provides for hedges to be cut down upon notice being given to that effect to a height of five feet from the footpath level. The committee recommends that the height be altered to four feet instead of five, and if this is approved, proposes amending the by-law in this direction when the building by-laws are being amended. The clause was adopted.
