NEW OPERA HOUSE.
♦ There was cause for rejoicing among theatregoers in Christchurch when it was learnt that George Wallace bad extended his revue season at the Opera House for a week. His latest revue, "Bald Heads," is bright and even thrilling, and strikes a different line from those he has already presented in Christchurch The humour is clean and spontaneous, the scenery and dress effects colourful and varied, the dancing novel and gymnastic and the plot intricate and clever. The first- half of the programme, as usual, consists of several clever turns, which are sure to please. Meredith and Romaine. as two "millionaires," are splendid, and the choruses and dances of the Six Rascals well executed. Marshall Crosby's fine voice is heard to advantage in "Somewhere Sooth of Shanghai," and Neva Carr-Glyn sings "Someday, Somewhere." The two Dudleys indulge in "Bright Harmony and Snappy Crosstalk." and do it extremely well. George Wallace and his Flaming Youths entertain for twenty minutes or so with the talented Red Beacham at the piano. This is an unusually fine act, and proved very popular with last night's audience. The musical score includes the following:—" Ole South," "Anythine You Say," "Hello, Montreal," "A Perfect Day," "My Blue Heaven," and "Rhapsody Russe." It is safe to say that George Wallace's farewell programme is one of the beßt he has yet produced, and good houses should bo in evidence every night.
