SHIPPING NOTES. Tho Kanaka Bailed from Dunedin at 11 a.m. yesterday in continuation of her voyage from Melbourne, and she is due at L-yt-telton early this morning. The Manuka "is to. sail this afternoon on the arrival of the 3.55 p.m. train troin Christchurch, for Melbourne, via Wellington. The Parera should arrive .early this morning from Tarakohe. After discharging cement she will load for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth. The Breeze is expected to-day from Wellington, and is to sail this afternoon -with cargo for Dunedin and Timaru. She should arrive back here on Tuesday to load for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Waipiata is expected to-morrow from Timaru to load for Auckland. She sails via Wellington. The Waikouaiti is due to-morrow from Port Chalmers and Timaru to load for Auckland. She sails from this port, via Picton. The John is dne on Saturday from the north, and takes in cargo here for New PlyI mouth and Waikato. The Storm is expected on Sunday from Wellington, and is to sail on Monday afternoon for Dunedin and Timaru. The Government steamer Tutanekai is expected to arrive here about Saturday from Welligton on her periodical visit to South Island lighthouses. The Himatangi is timed to load at Lyttelton on Monday for Wellington, Wanganui, and Foxton, to the agency of Kinsey and Co., Ltd. The Kahika is now expected to-morrow- from southern ports to load for Napier and Gisborne. The Poolta is due at Lyttelton on Tuesday from Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru. She is io tail the same day for Westport. The Tees was delayed yesterday afternoon by rain, and is now expected to sail to-day ■with passengers and cargo for the Chatham Islands The Canadian Transporter is due at Lyttelton on Wedensday next from Halifax, via Auckland and Wellington. She -Kill discharge and load here, and then proceed to Timaru and Dunedin. The Wingatui should arrive to-day from Wellington, and is to be dispatched to-night -with. cart;o for Dui-edin and Timarn. .The Cygnet, due to-night from Kaikoura and Wellington, is limed to sail to-morrow-night on the return trip. An endeavour was to bo made to -dispatch the Maimoa irom Wellington last night for j Lyltclton. On her arrival here she wiil j discontinue discharge of her Glasgow and i Liverpool cargo. j The Surrey is expected at Lyttelton on j Thursday nest from Wellington to discharge, j und proceeds from this port to Dunodin and .New Plymouth, to complete discharge. Unless work is interrupted to-day by rain the liemuera is to Bail to-night for Wellington for final loading. She is to Bail from Wellington on June 22nd for Southampton and London, via Panama. The Port Darwin, which left Auckland on May 15tb, sailed from Colon on Sunday for Kcw York, Boston, Halifax, and London. The Port Dunedin, en route from Liverpool, left Colon on Sunday for Auckland, where she is duo on June 30th. Captain E. K. Love has been appointed to command of the Kanna. Mr D. R. McPhail has relieved Mr H. M. .Hughes, third officer of the Poolta, for holiday. Mr T. A. Mack has joined the Kaimanawa as second officer. The Waikouaiti has been placed in commission at Port Chalmers, and is in command of Captain J. G. Watson. His deck officers are:—Chief, Mr C. H. M. Long; second', Mr R. H. The Maori, which did not leave Lyttelton until 2.30 this morning owing to the delay to the southern express, made the trip in nine and a half hours, or an average of 19 knots. This is not a record, hut is exceptionally quick time. She got to the wharf just as the clock was striking twelve.
