There was » moderate turaorer of stocks on call yesterday. Transactions, apart from vestibule business, included:— £2OOO 4i per cent. 1938 Stock. 20 National Bank of Australasia £5 paid. 100 Bank of New Zealand. 50 Huddart-Parkcr. 100 Staples Brewery. 100 Tooths Brewery. 100 Australian Distilleries. 100 British Tobacco. £IOOO N.Z. Farmers' Co op. 6$ per cent. Stock. 1939. 1000 Mahakipawa Goldfields. Four and a half per cent tax free stock due 1938 was easier at xyy los, buvera and business, sellers at £99 lis 6d. National Bank of Australasia. £5 paid, shares were steady at —9 lis 6d, sellers staving in at that price, buyers offering *£9 Us. Bank of -New Zealand shares hardened to ® nc * more were wanted at that figure, sellers at 63s 3d. Iluddart-Parker shares _ remained at 45s 7d, closing quotes 45s 6d buyers, 45s 9d sellers. Staples Brewery shares were fractionally weaker at 4Ss fid, and more were offered at 48s »d, buyers at 4Ss 2d. Tooths Brewery shares were released at 59s 9d, closing quotations 3d on either side. Australian Distilleries shares were weaker at 225, market closing 21s 9d buyers, 22s 6d sellers. British Tobacco shares firm with dealings at 49s 3d. N.Z. Farmers' 6A per cent. 1939 stock changed hands at £9O, market closing £1 either way. Mahakipawa Goldfields shares showed a hardening tendency, with business on the morning call at Sd, and on the afternoon call at 9£d, and further buyers at lOd, sellers at 10Jd. Dalgety and Company shares showed an easing tendency, with sellers at £ls 3s, buyers at £ls. New Zealand Insurance shares were firmer, with buyers at 47s 3d, no sellers. New Zealand Breweries shares weakened to 71s 5d sellers, 70s 3d buyers.
