The stone bears th« following inscription:—"A.M.D.G. This stone was laid on the eve of Whit-Sunday, 1929, by his .Grace, Archbishop Julius. Campbell, Christchurch, Bishop, C. A. Fraer, Vicar." The service held in connexion with the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. C. A. Fraer, and consisted of prayers and hymns. .Later a gathering was held in the Parish Hall, where the parishioners were entertained at afternoon tea.
