LONDON WOOL SALES. ! LONDON, May 16. Amended figures regarding the wool Sales estimate that about 40,000 bales were sold to the Home trade. The quantity held over included 26,000 bales, which were not offered. —Australian Press Association. The National Mortgage and Agency Co. of New Zealand, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London office:—"The auctions closed here to-day. Compared with opening rates, we quota: Greasy merino, best la lower, average Id lower; greasy balfbteds, 50-56 Id to 2d lower, greasy crossbred*, 48-50 id to id lower, 46-48 id to Id lower, 44-46 W lower, 40-44 |d lower, 86-40 Jd lower. 1 Slip© halfbred lambs par to 5 per cent, lower, medium and coarse slipes so change. Scoured merinos and crossbreds, good damaud at opening rates." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from London, under date 13th inst.: Wool Sales—Sales closed this day. As compared with last sales closing rates, prices are lower about par to 5 per cent, for coarse greasy crossbred, lambs merino, scoured merino super, and crossbred slips. Lower about 5 per cent, for scoured merino medium, greasy crossbred lambs, secured merino inferior, fine crossbred elipe, and medium greasy crossbred. Lower about 5 per cent. to H per e»nt. foj greasy merino. Crossbred eenured is about par.
