Maria Corda, one of Europe's most delightful act. reaaes, and Jameson Thomas, the English artist, have the leads in this film version «i Cv»>»t®»s Barcynska's book of the same B*we. The picture is being presented to adult audiences only in view of its delicate and controversial theme. Corda, a beautiful Hun» garian, plays Teshs, a Russian danseuse, who forsakes 'ier art to marry an Englishman who suffers from shell shock, Tesha has one consuming passion, and that is for children, find it is a source of much anguish to her that she is, at the end of five years' marrisd life. childless. It is round this theme that th» dramatic, pathetic story of Tesha is woven. In an impetuous moment slie confesses to her doctor that shQ ■wouid do anything Jot her husband, who ia greatly embittered: and in another impetuous moment contracts a liaison with her husband's friend, a man she dislikes. It is well produced, beautifully dressed, and is acted with peerless artistry by Corda and Thomas, Mr Alfred Bun* haa arranged a snecial musical score for this film.
