CHARGE AGAINST MARRIED MAN. [THE PBE3S Special Service.] AUCKLAND, May 17; Qn a.: warrant only issued at Aijpk-' land at 10 o'clock this morning,. Frederick George Allen (25), motor driver, was arrested on the Ulimaroa by Constable Christiansen this morning before the ship cleared the wharves lor toydney. Alien subsequently ap-. peareu at the Magistrate's.Court, when-, he was charged with' being the lather of an illegitimate child, the complainant asking that an affiliation order be made. Accused stoutly denied that he Was the father of the child. ■ f Sub-Inspector McCarthy had the case adjourned until Tuesday next. Allen, he said, was leaving for Sydney with his wife when he was taken off the steamer. He had only been married four months. He had £369 10s on him when arrested.
